Refund Policy

1. Our Commitment

We want you to be satisfied with CV Hero. If something went wrong, we want to make it right.

2. Digital Product Nature

CV Hero provides digital services that are delivered instantly upon payment, including AI-powered CV analysis and rewriting, cover letter generation, LinkedIn rewrites, interview preparation, and CV template downloads. Because these services are delivered digitally and immediately, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA).

3. Refund Request Window

Refund requests must be submitted within 24 hours of the original payment. Requests submitted after 24 hours will generally not be considered, except in exceptional circumstances at our sole discretion.

4. When a Refund May Be Granted

We will consider a refund if:

  • You were charged incorrectly or double-charged
  • A technical error prevented the service from being delivered
  • The AI rewrite failed and we were unable to resolve it within a reasonable time
  • You did not receive what was described on our pricing page

5. When a Refund Will Not Be Granted

We generally do not offer refunds if:

  • The service was successfully delivered and you simply changed your mind
  • You did not like the AI-generated output (we encourage you to use the free tier to assess the service before purchasing)
  • You have already downloaded your CV
  • The request is made after 24 hours of payment
  • You violated our Terms of Service

6. How to Request a Refund

Email us at sales@cvhero.co.za with:

  • Your full name
  • The email address used to register
  • Your PayFast payment reference number
  • The reason for your refund request

We will respond within 2 business days.

7. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed via the original payment method (PayFast). Processing times depend on your bank and typically take 3–5 business days to reflect.

8. Consumer Protection Act

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008. If you believe your statutory rights have been violated, you may contact the National Consumer Commission at www.thencc.org.za.
